THE CHALLENGE

Educate the users of our design system on what’s available to them within the design system, how to properly create layouts, understand patterns, use components, and surface relevant content within their experiences.

THE SOLUTION

Create a set of guidelines to document and explain system patterns, styles, and components. In doing so, our design system became a widely accessed resource by a number of cross-functional partners.

HOW I CONTRIBUTED

• Researched other design systems and industry best practices

• Spotted and assessed the needs of our users

• Wrote guidelines for numerous components and patterns

• Kept track of the status of all our guidelines, regularly auditing for necessary changes

• Incorporated feedback from users engaging with the design system on a regular basis

• Collaborated with engineers to understand accessibility requirements and coding options
